OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2010. Belarus’ producer price index (PPI) went up 0.4% on the month in July, an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

Production facilities prices edged up 0.6%, intermediate materials prices went up 0.2%, and consumer goods prices increased 0.8%.

In January-July 2010, prices increased 10.5% on January-July 2009.

In July, prices rose 2.7% in the porcelain and glass industry, 2.4% in the chemical industry, 1.6% in the woodworking and pulp-and-paper industry, and 1.1% in the petrochemical industry.

Prices increased 0.9% in the food-processing industry, 0.8% in the printing industry, 0.7% in the microbiological industry, 0.7% in the construction materials industry, 0.5% in the light industry, 0.4% in mechanical engineering and metalworking, 0.4% in the fuel industry, 0.1% in the medical industry.

Prices fell 0.9% in electrical power engineering and 0.6% in ferrous metallurgy.

Freight tariffs went decreased 27.4% in July 2010 from June.

Automobile freight tariffs went up 0.9%, railroad freight tariffs went down 0.7%, air transport tariffs went up 3.4%, and pipeline tariffs fell 57.1%.

PPI rose 14.5% on the year in 2009 following a rise of 14.2% on the year in 2008.
