OREANDA-NEWS. September 7, 2010. EuroChem’s Tuapse Bulk Terminal and the Administration of Tuapse region held a joint event for the region’s first-graders on September 1 in Tuapse. All those who came to school for the first time received gifts in celebration of the 'Day of Knowledge'.

The first-graders received 1,500 gift sets from Italy: boxes with felt-tip pens, paints, writing materials, multi-colored erasers, color pencils and paper in bright, colorful packages.

“As a part of EuroChem’s charity program, the Tuapse Bulk Terminal purchased and passed these gifts to the Administration of the Tuapse region. The company regularly organizes events devoted to the 1st of September in all the regions where it operates. In Tuapse we wanted to do the same for the school children and their parents,” said Tuapse Bulk Terminal’s Director, Nikolay Snytkin.

Vladimir Davydov, Deputy Regional Head for Social Issues, said: “The fundraising was organized at the initiative of the Acting Head of the Region, Vladimir Lybanev. I hope that this becomes a regular tradition. We hope that not only EuroChem, but also other industrial enterprises in the city will develop social responsibility as one of the main priorities in their work in Tuapse.”

The first-graders of City School No. 5, the largest school in the area, were among the first to receive the gifts. Igor Ivannikov, the school's principal said: “A total of 136 first-graders have come to our school this year. Gifts from EuroChem were a pleasant surprise not only for children, but also for their parents. We are grateful to the Tuapse Bulk Terminal for making this holiday more special. We wish them success in their work, and of course, we hope that in the future they will continue to brighten our lives with their social activities.”
