OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2010. Alexander Grigoriev, General Director of the insurance company OSAO Ingosstrakh, and Dmitry Chernyshenko, President and CEO of Sochi 2014, today signed an agreement which sees the insurance company become an Official Partner of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games, taking place in Sochi in 2014.

OSAO Ingosstrakh will also be an Official Partner of the Russian Olympic and Paralympic Committees until the end of 2016, as well as Official Insurance Partner to each of the 2012, 2014 and 2016 Russian Olympic and Paralympic teams.

The total value of the Tier Two contract is 40 million US Dollars.

“It is a great honor for us to become a Partner of the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games.” said OSAO Ingosstrakh General Director, Alexander Grigoriev. “Ingosstrakh was the general insurer for the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games, and thirty four years later, it will be a Partner of Russia’s first Winter Games. We are very proud of this status.”

“For many years we have experience of working with the organizers of many major sporting events through providing insurance cover in all areas related to staging these events.”

Dmitry Chernyshenko, President and CEO of Sochi 2014, declared:

Signing  contracts with one of the leading Russian insurance companies makes us confident that the Games are reliably insured. Ingosstrakh will provide a world-leading service and will be part of ensuring that Sochi 2014 stage an innovative and inspirational Winter Games.”

As a Partner, Ingosstrakh will have the right to use the symbols of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games, as well as those of the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, on Russian territory.

Having signed the contracts, the two sides acknowledged their obligations according to the conditions of the Partnership Agreement, which must be concluded within three months.

In the words of Vladislav Tretyak, three-time Olympic champion, ten-time world champion, President of the Russian Hockey Federation and Member of the State Duma:

“Ingosstrakh is the oldest and most experienced company in the Russian insurance industry. For the Russian Hockey Federation it is particularly exciting given the firm’s longstanding commitment to Russian sport and its sponsorship of the Russian Ice Hockey Team. In partnership with Ingosstrakh the Russian Ice Hockey Federation are supporting veterans and encouraging youth development in hockey in general and, therefore, the health of the nation. Our joint work will hopefully support our future Olympic teams as well as our teams for Sochi 2014.”

International Partners of the IOC who have signed contracts for the 2014 Games in Sochi are: Coca-Cola, Atos Origin, Dow Chemical, Omega, Panasonic, Procter & Gamble, Samsung and Visa.
