OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2010.Russia and Croatia signed intergovernmental Agreements on mutual help in the field of emergency recovery and joint activity of Atomenergoprom R&D on NPP equipment manufacturing.

The information was provided by Director of International Activity Department of Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Yuri Brazhnikov.

The documents were signed according to the results of a meeting of Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Sergey Shoigu with the Head of Croatian Government, which was held in Croatia.

In addition, on Friday the sixth session of the intergovernmental Russian-Croatian Commission on commercial and economic and scientific and technological cooperation was held. The Croatian party was represented by Minister of Economy Damir Polanchets.

According to Brazhnikov, a member of Russian delegation, that session fixed the decisions, which had been agreed on during the meeting of Chairman of RF Government Vladimir Putin and Croatian Prime-Minister Yadranka Kosor, held in June.

“After the downturn, caused by the global economic crisis, the cooperation between the two countries has been activated, and now finds itself on the upswing,” Brazhnikov said when summarizing the session results.

According to him, they have also studied all topical problems and found optimal ways of their solutions.

“They are referred to the energy sector, fuel and energy complex, in particular to power equipment supplies to Croatia within the framework of former USSR obligation implementation, new long-term contract on Gazpromeksport gas supplies as well as gas production in Croatia and other energy projects,” the Russian delegation representative said.

The parties also discussed tourist industry issues.

“For Croatia this year was successful in terms of the number of Russian tourists visiting this country. Today we have discussed the issue of Russian investments into Croatian tourist industry development,” Brazhnikov said.


They also spoke about Croatian funding of Russian projects. “Thus, in Vladimir region it is planned to construct a cement plant,” the Russian public officer said.
