OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2010.According to the Ukrainian State Statistics Committee, in 7 months of 2010, export of freight wagons amounted to 20,459 units, 3.9-fold more in comparison with the similar period of the previous year.

Traditionally, the major consumers are Russia (approximately 85% of the total railcar volume exported) and Kazakhstan (10%). 17,800 wagons were exported to Russia (6.3-fold growth), and 2,218 railcars were delivered to Kazakhstan (1.4-fold increase).

Belarus purchased 250 cargo wagons (+16%). Baltic states bought just 164 railcars, while in 7 months of 2009 the figure was 397 units.

Gondola cars and tanks wagons remain most popular rolling stock. 10,833 and 5,900 wagons of these types were exported. Of that, 92.5% and 71% were exported to Russia.

Export of hoppers increased by 3.5-fold to 2,219 units. The number of covered wagons sold to other countries was 101 units (+9.7%).
