OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2010. Traffic chaos on the road to Sheremetyevo airport is likely to get worse next year – with all government flights about to be re-routed to the Leningradskaya Shosse terminal.

At present government officials fly from Vnukovo, but that airport is due to close for reconstruction in the spring.

And according to gzt.ru all state flights will operate out of Sheremetyevo, with little enthusiasm for using Moscow Region’s military airfields.

It could result in the skies over the airport – which is the main hub for Russia’s flag carrier Aeroflot – closing for at least 45 minutes either side of every flight taken by president Dmitry Medvedev or prime minister Vladimir Putin, the Higher School of Economics’ Sergei Alexashenko warned.
