OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2010. The International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) has signed an  agreement with the Connect telecommunication company on possibility of realization of payments for the company’s services by means of plastic cards, issued  by IBA.

According to head  of the IBA press-service Rauf Agayev, the bank continues to develop range of services and  infrastructure of electronic banking.

“Payments of communal and telecommunication services is one of the most popular services of electronic banking. The Connect telecommunication company has been added recently to the number of the companies,  clients of which can carry out similar payments. Thus, infrastructure of the service “Electronic Banking” totals already more than 10 companies among which the Azercell, the  Bakcell, the Narmobile, the Baku electric system, the Azeronline, the Elcell, the International Insurance Company (IIC) and others,”  R. Agayev said.

Now clients of the Connect company can pay for services of the Internet or cable television by means of bank cards of IBA in any of automated teller machines or information booths of the Bank or in systems of Internet Banking and MobilBank.

"Service “Electronic Banking” is in  growing constantly demand. So, if over 2007 243,8000  operations were carried out in the amount of 4.88 million by means of all channels of electronic banking,  in 2008 the quantity of all kinds of operations made 366,300 (growth by 33.4%), and their total sum – AZN 7.97 million (growth by 38.8%). Positive dynamics has also remained in 2009: 498,700  operations to the sum of  13.6 million. In the first  and the second quarters of 2010,  the quantity of operations exceeded AZN 264,000 and the total sum made AZN 8.3 million,”  R. Agayev said.
