OREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2010. JSC FGC UES delegation headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board Roman Berdnikov visited the Republic of Korea. Within the visit on September 9 the Agreement on interaction between JSC FGC UES and Hyundai Heavy Industries was signed on certifying equipment, technologies and materials.

The agreement defines interaction of he parties on the issues related to development of Hyundai Heavy Industries electrical equipment manufacturing in Russia, implementation of innovation technologies on facilities of the Federal Grid Company and also technical maintenance and repair of Hyundai Heavy Industries equipment installed at JSC FGC UES facilities. In particular, the Korean company undertakes to certify its equipment in accordance with standards of the Federal Grid Company, control installation of the equipment supplied, provide 24-hour technical support and train JSC FGC UES specialists in equipment maintenance, diagnostics and repair.

In its turn FGC will certify electrical equipment proposed by the Korean party, strike certification committees and render required consulting services in respect of certification procedure.

On September 8 the company delegation participated in one of the largest industrial exhibitions in Korea – SIEF 2010 where among others were presented leading developments of the global electrical equipment manufacturers. Negotiations were held with the president of Association of Korean electrical equipment manufacturers KOEMA Mr. Joon Chull Kim. The following issues were discussed at the meeting: cooperation with Korean power industry companies within modernization of backbone electric grid complex and development of intelligent grid.

During the visit it is also planned to hold negotiations with Korea Electric Power Corp (KEPCO) management. The parties will exchange experience in electric grid complex management and also discuss development of technologic cooperation between the energy companies. In particular, they will consider issues of innovative development of electric power industry, implementation of separate element of intelligent electric grids, application of DC links, utilization of redundant energy storage for reserving electric power and balancing power consumption peaks. In addition members of the delegation will visit KEPI laboratory to participate in Hyundai produced SF6 switchgear and control gear testing.

On September 11, the company delegation plan to visit cable plant Taihan. Complete product line will be presented to the Russian party including cables of cross-linked polyethylene with voltage up to 500 kV.
