OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2010. Belarus’ consumer prices went up 0.6% on the month in August 2010, compared to a rise by 0.3% in July, 0.2% in June, 0.8% in May, 0.7% in April, 1.1% in March, 0.5% in February and 0.8% in January, an official in the National Statistics Committee told.

Prices rose 5.1% in January-August 2010, compared to 7.5% in January-August 2009.

In annualized terms, that is, August on August, consumer prices rose 7.6%, which compares to 12.9% in the period July 2008 through July 2009.

Food prices rose 0.9% in August 2010 and 5.3% in January-August 2010, non-food prices went up 0.3% and 5.4%, and consumer services prices increased 0.3% and 4%.

In 2009, inflation accelerated 10.1%. The forecast for 2010 stands at 9%-10%.
