OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2010. Steel output of Zhlobin-based Belarusian Metallurgical Plant (BMZ) amounted to 1.467 million tonnes in January-July 2010, down 1.6% on the year, an official with the plant told.

Rolled stock output decreased 6.5% to 1.17 million tonnes, and pipe output rose 110% to 54,800 tonnes.

Metal cord output went up 25.6% to 52,300 tonnes. Steel cord output rose 60% to 112,600 tonnes.

Bead wire output amounted to 15,400 tonnes, up 4.6% year-on-year.

BMZ’s overall output increased 5.8% on the year in January-July to 2.393 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br).

Sales amounted to 2.491 trillion rubles.

BMZ’s exports increased 22.6% on the year to USD 628.2 million.

State company Belarusian Metallurgical Plant was launched in 1984. BMZ exports about 85% of its output. Non-CIS countries account for more than 70% of the BMZ’s exports.
