OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2010. At the end of September, "Pskovenergo" - the branch of IDGC of North-West completed works related to reconstruction of two 110 kV substations - S No.61 "Strugi Krasnye" and S No.504 "Pechorskiy Keramkombinat". According to the capital construction department, "Pskovenergo" allocated RUR 13.4 million (VAT excluded) of the 2010 investment program funds for reconstruction of these objects.

In particular, outdated 110 kV isolating switches and short circuitors in transformer circuits were replaced by 110 kV SF 6 circuit breakers, and new control, protection and circuit breaker panels were installed within the frameworks of modernization of the key objects of the grid infrastructure in Strugi Krasnye and Pechory. Both substations remained running throughout the whole period of reconstruction.

These substations were put into operation over 40 years ago. The former switching equipment which was subject to reconstruction fails to comply with modern standards and requirements of new technological complexes for long.

The five-year program of actions to improve reliability of 35-110 kV substations wiring approved by the Chief Engineer of "Pskovenergo" Andrey Kuzmin planned to be implemented till 2012 provides replacement of 110 kV isolating switches and short-circuitors by SF 6 circuit breakers at 12 substations in total.
