OREANDA-NEWS. October 13, 2010. JSC FGC UES Branch – Backbone Electric Grids (MES) of North-West – started reconstruction of substation 330 kV Kamennogorskaya (Vyborg district of Leningrad region). Work is carries out within the investment program of JSC FGC UES. In the result of technical upgrading which is planned to be completed in September 2011, the power facility will have the same capacity while reliability of power supply to customers of Vyborg district of Leningrad region with population exceeding 180 ths. people will be significantly enhanced. Investments of JSC FGC UES in the substation reconstruction will amount to RUR 90 mln.

The following equipment will be built at the power facility: outdoor switchgear and control gear 10 kV comprising 19 cells 10 kV and vacuum circuit-breakers, a new auxiliary transformer and also stonewear duct for cable lines 10 kV.

Currently foundations for new equipment are started at the substation. In the nearest future they will start assembling electrical equipment.

Substation 330 kV Kamennogorskaya having capacity of 250 MVA was put into operation in 1973. Two power transmission lines 330 kV outgo from the substation connecting it with North-West CHPP and substation 400 kV Vyborgskaya. In addition there are six power lines 110 kV outgoing from the substation providing for power supply to the town of Vyborg and Vyborg region with population over 180 thousand people; and also industrial mining corporation CJSC Lenstroykomplektatsia.
