OREANDA-NEWS. October 13, 2010. JSC FGC UES Branch – Backbone Electric Grids (MES) of Center – started complex reconstruction of substation 330 kV Sadovaya (Kursk region). Works are carried out within the investment program of JSC FGC UES. Modernization of the power facility will significantly enhance reliability of power supply to customers in the town of Kursk and Kursk power system. The amount of investments of the Federal Grid Company into reconstruction will exceed RUR 2.6 bln.

In accordance with the project of reconstruction a new power facility will be built on the site next to the existing substation. The new substation will be equipped with advanced gas-insulated equipment 110-220 kV, two autotransformers 200 MVA each with monitoring systems, two transformers having capacity of 25 MVA each. Also outdoor switchgears 35, 110 and 220 kV and indoor switchgear 10 kV will be installed on the power facility. The substation will be equipped with up-to-date equipment, digital systems of relay protection and automation, automated field control system. In the result of reconstruction that will be completed in 2014 substation 330 kV Sadovaya will become highly reliable and unattended power facility of new generation.

Substation 330 kV Sadovaya with installed capacity of 450 MVA was built in 1965. 34 power transmission lines 10, 35, 110 and 330 kV outgo from the facility connecting the substation with Kursk power system and customers of the region. Reliable power supply to customers in the town of Kursk with the population exceeding 400 ths. people and also to such large customers as JSC Pribor, JSC Schetmash, tracking substations of Orel – Kursk division of Moscow railways of JSC RZD (Russian Railways) and others depends on stable operation of this power facility.
