OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2010. JCS “EMAlliance” has won the tender held by LLC “Vostokenergo” (Ukraine) on TPP Kurachovskaya power unit №8 upgrading. The cost of works will amounts to 950 mln.rbl. This is the largest project on Ukraine power facilities modernization over the last 12 years.

In accordance with the tender documents EMAlliance will perform the power unit with the capacity 210 MW redesign by upgrading the boiler unit TP-109 on terms of the general contract. The application of modern Russian technology solutions for efficient burning of anthracite coal will increase the maneuvering characteristics and reliability of the unit. In addition, the technologies proposed by JSC “EMAlliance” allow Ukrainian partners to increase the efficiency of the Kurakhovskaya TPP power unit № 8 at 15 MW. At present the installed capacity of the plant is 1,472 MW.

The Project is planned to be completed in December 2011.

It is the third project of EMAlliance associated with the modernization of the energy system of Ukraine in 2010. In January of the current year EMA signed the Contract with "Zakhidenergo” for supply of boiler and auxiliary equipment under the project of reconstruction of Burshtynsk TPP power unit № 7, and in April of this year - the contract with Donbassenergo on modernization of the Starobeshevo TPP power unit №11.

Commenting the tender results, Vice-President of “EMAlliance” Konstantin Smorochinskyi underlined that Ukraine of is a strategic market for our company. "In fact all the equipment being operated on TPP of Ukraine was designed and manufactured at JSC “TKZ’Krasny Kotelschik” (EMAlliance affiliate). We are familiar with these facilities, their peculiarities and features. Nowadays we offer to our Ukrainian partners up-to-date technological and engineering solutions confirmed by practical experience and references in new power units construction sector”- he said.
