OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2010. I.T. Co. won two auctions initiated by the Federal State Statistics Service to supply printing equipment for its central and regional offices. The purchase of printing equipment aims to modernize the system for statistical data collection, processing, storage and distribution by means of modern ITC solutions.

The main objective of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) is to meet the requirements of government authorities and administration, media, public, scientific community, commercial and international enterprises in providing diverse, objective and complete statistical information. Obviously, the activities performed by Rosstat are associated with collecting of large volumes of different data that can be professionally processed only by use of latest IT developments and modern computing infrastructure.

The auctions won by I.T. Co. were conducted under the Federal Target Program “Development of State Statistics of Russia in 2007-2011” that intends to provide users with reliable statistical data and complies with international standards applied to statistical information. This requires establishment of a joint information and statistics system targeted at increasing decision-making efficiency.

One of the objectives of the Federal Target Program is to modernize the system for statistical data collection, processing, storage and distribution operated by government statistics authorities by means of modern information and communication technologies. I.T. Co. takes an active role in performing this goal.

In accordance with open auctions I.T. Co. should supply the central office and 82 regional offices of Rosstat with 145 multifunctional devices (four types), as well as 291 finishing printing equipment, including binding machines, cutters, thermal and wire stitching machines. The delivery and, what is even more important, commissioning and start-up of listed equipment is necessary to be completed prior to mid-December of 2010. The total cost of the two state contracts exceeds 165 million Rubles.
