Ingosstrakh and Kremlin Cup CJSC have been cooperating as long as nine consecutive years. All these years Ingosstrakh has also acted as the general insurer of the event. This year Ingosstrakh has insured the organisers of the tournament against liability for life, bodily injury or damage to the property of third parties, including visitors, participants, spectators, guests, employees, tenants as a result of the event. Just like in previous years the limit of liability is USD 5 million with indemnification to be paid out in Russian rubles.

By acting as the general partner of the tournament, Ingosstrakh not only provides reliable insurance coverage but also implements a number of its own initiatives. Every year the insurer holds photography contests for the photo journalists accredited to the event. The authors of the best photographs taken during the Kremlin Cup will be given valuable gifts.

In addition to that since 2008 Ingosstrakh has been giving special prizes to the participants in the tournament in the Fair Play and Miss Kremlin Cup nominations. These awards were established to commemorate the president and the chairperson of the board of the company, V. Scherbakov. Vyacheslav Scherbakov also regarded supporting the Kremlin Cup as one of the main sponsorship projects of Ingosstrakh. The winners in the special nominations are selected by a special commission, consisting of representatives of Ingosstrakh, Kremlin Cup, ATP World Tour and Sony Ericsson WATA Tour. Last year the awards went to Russia’s Vera Zvonaryova and to Serbia’s tennis player Yanko Tipsarevich.

In 2009 Ingosstrakh also took care of spectators. The spectators were supplied with a brochure with a schedule of all the matches and players, and everyone who wished  could get it at the Olympic complex during the tournament. This year Ingosstrakh plans to publish a guidebook to international tennis tournaments and offer it to the spectators. The guidebook draws on information from such authoritative sources as ATP World Tour and Sony Ericsson WTA Tour 2010 – 2011 and contains information about the place and date of each tournament, the players participating in it, the prize fund and the names of last year’s winners.

‘Our company has always actively supported sports in Russia, because we strongly believe that the Russian athletes can only win at the most prestigious events if our business community treats sports seriously,’ comments the general director of Ingosstrakh Alexander Grigoryev, ‘Ingosstrakh’s involvement with sports has lasted for decades. Our company insured the international youth games, numerous international and national competitions and Moscow Olympic games in 1980. In September 2010 Ingosstrakh and the Organising Committee for 2014 Sochi Olympic games entered into agreements under which Ingosstrakh was given the status of an official partner of the 22nd Winter Olympic Games and the 11th Winter Para-Olympic Games that would take place in 2014 in Sochi.’

According to Shamil Tarpischev, the President of the Russian Tennis Federation, ‘in soviet times tennis was regarded as an elitist sport in Russia and only very  few people could enjoy it. Today there are millions of tennis fans in Russia who not only like the sports because of our victories but also they appreciate the rapidly-changing situations, and passion of the game as well as its ability to raise spirits and vitality. I’m very happy that this beautiful game gets increasingly popular in Russia. To a large extent this growth in popularity has been helped by our good friends, including our reliable partner Ingosstrakh. We’ve been successfully cooperating for almost 10 years already and I hope that our friendship will only get deeper as the years go by, allowing us to discover new talents in tennis and help Russian tennis players win in the most prestigious international competitions.

It should be noted that Ingosstrakh is actively involved in the organisation of many sports events, and as far as tennis is concerned the company has a special relationship with it. For example, this year the company has supported the Legends of Tennis in Moscow tournament held for the very first time, as well as the 1/8 final match between Russia and India and the ? final match between Russia and Argentina in the Davis Cup. In 2009 the company was a partner for the Fed Cup ? final match between Russia and China and in 2008 in the Davis Cup ? final match between Russia and the Check Republic and the Davis Cup 1/8 final between Russia and Serbia. In 2007 Ingosstrakh supported the Davis Cup semi-final match between Russia and Germany and in 2006 it supported the Davis Cup final between Russia and Argentina. An equally important milestone in Ingosstrakh’s tennis history was the insurance of the famous Silver Bowl for the entire period that it was in Russia in 2006-2007. In addition to that, in 2008 Ingosstrakh supported the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Russia’s tennis federation. Among other things, Ingosstrakh also published a photo album titled Steps to Victory that included some unique photographs from the archives of the federation. The celebration included tennis matches among veteran players, juniors and tennis players in wheelchairs. On the whole, the company has so far supported around one hundred tournaments of the Russian tennis tour, of which about twenty have been international tournaments.
