OREANDA-NEWS. October 22, 2010. General Director and Chairman of the Management Board of MMC Norilsk Nickel, Vladimir Strzhalkovsky made a business trip to the Republic of South Africa (RSA), reported the press-centre of Norilsk Nickel.

As part of the business visit, Vladimir Strzhalkovsky held a meeting with the management of NN Africa and the Nkomati project, where the positive project implementation dynamics, technological conditions and production performance, as well as the ahead-of-schedule finalization of stage two of the concentrator modernization, were emphasized.

The Company’s General Director also met with the President of South Africa Jakob Zuma. Both parties expressed high opinion of the Company’s current projects in South Africa and also discussed the potential participation of MMC Norilsk Nickel in the implementation of new projects within the frames of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in August between the Company and Kopano Ke Matla LED Consortium. 

Vladimir Strzhalkovsky also had a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of African Rainbow Minerals Company – Patrice Motsepe. Mr. Strzhalkovsky and Mr. Motsepe emphasized the efficient cooperation of the two companies to implement Nkomati project and considered the opportunities for the development of further cooperation in Africa.
