OREANDA-NEWS. October 25, 2010. Harmonization of social relations, social responsibility of business - these are the issues that gain more importance in the Russian society and that INTERPROMBANK traditionally pays close attention to. And the first annual symposium "Ethical aspects of banking: the experience of Russia and Italy” which took place in Moscow on October 11-12 under the blessing of   Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, was devoted exactly to these problems.

Within the symposium frame work, where two main themes "The main ethical principles of banking and its moral dimension" and "Social responsibility of banks: the formation of an economically fair society", including the questions of moral principals of lending, moral and ethical reasons for the global financial crisis origin, responsibility of the banking system for the sustainable and just economic development were under discussion.

The major organizers of the symposium were the Department for External Church Relations of Moscow Patriarchate, UBI Banca Group and Paul Joseph Jean Cardinal Poupard’s, former president of the Pontifical Council on Cullture of the Roman Catholic Church, Foundation.

The symposium was also attended by representatives of the Russian Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches, the public authorities, Russian and Italian banking community.

At the event INTERPROMBANK was represented by Maria Korzina, First Deputy Chairman of the Board.
