OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2010. Belarus’ OJSC Olivaria, a brewery based in the city of Minsk, produced 5.481 million decaliters of beer in January-September 2010, an increase of 9.8% on the year, a representative in Belgospischeprom concern told.

In September, beer output rose 16.5% on the year to 660,400 decaliters.

Beer offering in plastic bottles rose 10.6% to 3.757 million decaliters in January-September, in glass bottles rose 2% to 1.315 million decaliters, and in kegs rose 16.6% to 357,500 decaliters. Beer offering in cans reached 52,000 decaliters.

The brewery accounted for 17.8% of Belarus’ beer production in January-September 2010, down 0.9 of a percentage point year-on-year.

In January-September 2010, the company exported 74,400 decaliters of beer, up from 900 decaliters in the same period in 2009.

Olivaria was founded in 1864 and transformed into a joint stock company in 1994. In December 2006, Sweden’s BBH acquired a 30% stake in Olivaria by purchasing an additional issue of shares for USD 18.5 million.

Carlsberg A/S acquired a stake in Olivaria through a purchase of a BBH shareholding from Scottish&Newcastle in May 2008.
