OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2010. KMAruda Works has ordered new freight car scales for concentrate storage. The scales now in use were supplied by Ekaterinburg-based AVITEK-PLUS and have already surpassed their useful life. The decision was taken to purchase new scales produced by the same company.

The new scales will be based on measuring rails that are more reliably protected against corrosion. The scales are strapdown scales, meaning that the weight sensors are built directly into the rails and do not require any preparation of the foundation. In addition, the rails correct for margins of error on mass depending on the rail temperature, which increases the accuracy of measurement.

The rail measurement system will also apply a display panel from the manufacturer. All additional enhancements to the measurement system that have been added during the course of using the existing scales will be preserved by the manufacturer.
