OREANDA-NEWS. November 1, 2010. An affiliate to JSC FGC UES – Backbone Electric Grids (MES) of South – has completed the 1st stage of reconstruction of substation 220 kV Dagomys (Krasnodar Territory of Russia). Works have been performed as a part of investment program of FGC UES. After reconstruction the capacity of the substation shall increase from 275 MVA to 472 MVA. This shall increase reliability of power supply to consumers of Sochi region with population 600 thousand people, including constructed objects of Winter Olympic Games of 2014. The sum of investments made by JSC FGC UES to reconstruction of the substation is 2.5 bln RUR.

During 2011 as a part of 2nd stage it is planned to install at the power object a battary of static condensers, an automated information-measuring system of commerical registration of electric power (Automated Informative Electric Power Accounting System, or AIEPAS), an open distribution system (ODS) 110 kV has been constructed.

Substation 220 kV Dagomys has been commissioned in 1966. It provides power supply to over than 200 hotels of Lazarevskiy region of Krasnodarskiy Territory. The power object is as well outputting to substaitons 220 kV Psou and Poselkovaya, which provide power supply to 243 Olympic objects under construction.
