OREANDA-NEWS. November 02, 2010.  OJSC KAMAZ has managed to maintain its market share under the conditions of recovering economy in the Republic of Kazakhstan. An effective campaign for clearance sale, a high demand for KAMAZ machinery and development of production of KAMAZ-Engineering Joint Venture in Kokshetau enabled KAMAZ to remain the leading player in the region.

After the long crisis, the Kazakh market of 14-40 t GVW vehicles has showed a significant growth since the beginning of 2010. During the first eight months of 2010, the industrial output in Kazakhstan increased by 10.9%. The agricultural sector is also developing: the gross output increased by 2.6%. These tendencies resulted in the increase of freight turn-over. According to non-transportation companies and entrepreneurs involved in commercial transportation, it grew by 11%. As for the volumes of wholesale and retail trade turn-over, they grew by more than 13%.

KAMAZ’s dealers in Kazakhstan offering their customers modernized products had to quickly solve the problem of excess stock resources stored up during the crisis years. The problem was effectively solved in a short term. The main decision was a clearance sale of stock to customers of Kazakhstan on favourable terms.

Cooperation of OJSC KAMAZ with the representatives of a commodity distribution network in Kazakhstan was of primary importance. Due to this well-coordinated work, KAMAZ managed to keep its position, despite a great competition in the market of Kazakhstan both with Chinese and other foreign car producers.

To date, demand for KAMAZ trucks is growing again. KAMAZ-Engineering is up and running at full capacity. Moreover, the volume of orders is so great that the question is raised to deliver finished trucks from Russia.

According to experts, in 2011, the economy of Kazakhstan will continue developing which will entail the increase of the volume of the truck market by a quarter. It will enable KAMAZ not only to keep its current positions in the region but also to successfully increase its share in the segment of heavy-duty trucks. The Russian vehicle producer continues strengthening its positions in the segments of buses, agricultural and special-purpose machinery.
