OREANDA-NEWS. November 02, 2010.  The Bank of Moscow won the tender held by the State Corporation Deposit Insurance Agency (ASV) to select agent banks to pay indemnity to depositors of Mezhprombank Plus.

The overall payments total 1.184 billion rubles, a large proportion of which apply to Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi. Payments will be made for a period of six months following 2 November 2010.

"For the convenience of Mezhprombank Plus clients, we have decided to keep our offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi open over the holiday period so that the depositors might assess Bank of Moscow services on the very first payment days", commented Stanislav Stanek, Head of the Retail Business of the Bank of Moscow. "We are pleased to offer every Mezhprombank Plus client the opportunity to open a Bank of Moscow deposit and receive a credit card with a limit of 80% of the initial deposit as a gift".

This is not the first time that the Bank of Moscow has paid out indemnity to depositors of other banks on the instructions of the ASV. In 2008—2009, for instance, the Bank of Moscow developed collaboration with ASV within the scope of the deposit insurance system. As of 31 December 2009, the Bank of Moscow had paid out, on behalf of the ASV, a total of 2.8 billion rubles for problem banks.
