OREANDA-NEWS. November 2, 2010. SsangYong presented a production version of the NEW Actyon, a brand new vehicle in the SsangYong lineup that should become the first step in renewing the line. NEW Actyon is a stylish, universal, mid-size crossover SUV. It follows the principles of high quality, reliability and distinction. NEW Actyon has new platform, new body and new engine. It is the first unibody SUV in the SsangYong product line.

The car was designed collaboratively with one of the world’s leading designers Giorgetto Giugiaro, who gave the Korean car a touch of European elegance and strict adherence to the SsangYong family traits.

The NEW Actyon crossover SUV is a city family car. Its spacious cabin combines the benefits of an SUV with comfort of a sedan. NEW Actyon is perfectly suited for out of town leisure, as well as for everyday family trips. The multipurpose cabin with many storage compartments as well as rear seat folding in line with the luggage compartment floor make NEW Actyon a great companion on any trip.

The new turbo-diesel eXDi200 installed on the NEW Actyon is SsangYong’s crowning glory. The engine boasts high power and torque (175 hp, 360 Nm), excellent efficiency (6 l/100 km) and environmental compatibility (CO2 emission: 157 g/km) and low noise. This 2 L diesel engine is paired with manual and automatic transmissions on four-wheel drive and front-wheel drive models. The 6-speed automatic gearbox has optimized ratios and is equipped with an E-Tronic electronic control system.

NEW Actyon has an electronically controlled four-wheel drive system. It considers the road and traction conditions and sets the optimal transfer of power between front and rear axles. It allows the car to travel in different road conditions without loss of efficiency.

In Russia, NEW Actyon is offered by SOLLERS, the exclusive distributor and manufacturer of SsangYong vehicles in the country. Production of the NEW Actyon will start at the SOLLERS-Far East plant in December 2010, and sales will start in February 2011.

Five models will be available in Russia: two front-wheel drive models, with manual and automatic gearboxes and three four-wheel drive models, also with manual and automatic gearboxes. Prices will be announced when production of the NEW Actyon is started.
