Initial yield on management of citizens’ pension savings by Vnesheconombank during the third quarter totaled 5.74% annually on the expanded portfolio and 6.13% annually on the portfolio of government securities 3.

Ms Vedernikova added: “Recently there has been considerable speculation regarding the fate of pension reform and even the potential to gradually eliminate the mandatory savings portion and switch to a voluntary basis. Unfortunately, the project to develop the pension system presented this summer to the Ministry of Health and Social Development went unnoticed. Pension reform in Russia is less than ten years old – a very brief time. Now it is necessary not to turn back to a distributive system, but to establish greater trust in Russian financial institutions – pension market participants.
