OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2010. Renaissance Capital, the leading emerging markets investment bank, has won the 2010 Investment Bank of the Year award from African Banker magazine. The prestigious award is the second industry accolade Renaissance Capital has received in Africa in recent weeks.

With offices in South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia and Ghana and over 100 professionals working on the continent, Renaissance Capital is one of the most active dealmakers in Africa, executing 24 transactions in 13 countries last year. Renaissance Capital also has one of the largest and diversified research teams in Africa.

The African Banker Awards is a landmark event taking place every year during the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings. The winners were announced at a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony in Washington DC on October 8, and brought together over 300 key industry players and top government officials from Africa and around the world to honour the achievements of companies and individuals who have contributed significantly to the reform, modernisation and expansion of the continent’s banking and financial system, driving Africa’s sustained economic growth in the process.

Last month, Renaissance Capital won the 2010 Best Africa Investment Bank award from Africa Investor magazine (Ai). The Ai Awards recognise and reward Africa’s institutional investors, stock exchanges, best-performing listed companies, stockbrokers and capital market regulators.
