OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2010. Belarus’ farm output increased 1.1% on the year in January-September to 25.518 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), a source in the National Statistics Committee told.

Sales of fattened cattle and poultry rose 5.3% on the year in January-September to 994,800 tonnes, milk output rose 0.4% to 5.245 million tonnes, and egg output went up 3.4% to 2.739 billion units.

Return on sales of Belarus’ agribusiness reached 4.7% in January-August 2010, down from 5.5% in January-August 2009.

Net profit of agricultural companies amounted to 1.3 trillion rubles in January-August 2010, up 4.8% on the year.

In January-August 2010, farms’ net loss reached 22.9 billion rubles, up 80% year-on-year. There were 29 unprofitable farms, compared with 17 loss-makers in January-August 2009.

Overdue payables of Belarus’ agriculture were at 2 trillion rubles as of September 1, 2010, 17.6% of all payables.
