Net loss of OJSC Murmansk Shipping Company (MSC) for January-September of 2010 amounted (to Russian Accounting Standards) to 336,488,000 rubles versus net income of RUB 280,228,000 a year earlier, the company’s financial report said. Revenue for the 9 months ended Sept 30 increased by 7.2% to 4,309,339,000 rubles.

JSC Murmansk Shipping Company is a highly integrated corporate structure, which includes the fleet of three Russian shipping companies: JSC Murmansk Shipping Company, JSC Northern Shipping Company, JSC Northern River Shipping Company with a total deadweight of about 1.2 million tons. Russian Govt. holds a 25.5-percent of authorized capital in MSC Group. Net income of MSC for 2009 fell 2.74% year-over-year to 138.6 million rubles. The total volume of cargo transported by the shipping company in 2009 rose by 8% YOY to 7 million 889 thousand tons.
