OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2010. The Gazprom headquarters hosted a joint meeting of the Company's Emergency Response & Fire Safety Commission and the Civil Defense Board. The meeting was moderated by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.

The meeting addressed the issues of emergency prevention at Gazprom's hazardous industrial facilities. In particular, the Automated Analysis System basing on the facilities register received high evaluation. The System helps make strategic decisions related to process safety with due consideration given to technological features of the Company's facilities.

The meeting participants deliberated on the measures to ensure safe operation of the Prirazlomnaya offshore ice-resistant stationary platform. Special attention was paid to introduction of cutting-edge engineering and technological solutions minimizing the risks of accidental oil and petroleum product spills.

Following the meeting results, specialized subdivisions and subsidiaries of Gazprom were tasked to further streamline the corporate civil defense and emergency response system.
