OREANDA-NEWS. The official launch of the PARE 1+1 program meant to encourage inflow of money from Moldovan citizens working abroad to Moldova will take place in Chisinau on November 22. This program approved by the Government on October 6 of this year stipulates that Moldovan labor migrants or their relatives will be receiving 1 leu from the government for each invested leu of their money earned abroad.

Within the framework of the program, labor immigrants of Moldova and their first-degree relatives will be able to receive a grant in the amount of up to 200,000 leis for development of their business. The government will also be providing them with all kind of informational, consulting support. The PARE 1+1 program is a pilot one.

It was elaborated taking into consideration the best practices of countries which passed similar economy development stages, and will be co-financed by a number of international organizations. The program will be implemented in 2010-2012 by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization.

The committee which will supervise the pilot program consists of representatives of different Ministries, international organizations-donors, other institutions. According to the World Bank’s data, Moldovan citizens’ transfers make up 23% of the country’s GDP.
