OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2010. IES-Holding chose a subcontractor for designing a new 165MW power generating unit for Perm CHPP-9. Under results of tender conducted on IES B2b Electron Trading Site the right to conclude a contract on design documentation development was given to “Teploelectroproekt” Institute. This is one of the oldest design institutes in Russia developing power facilities.

According to the procurement activity single policy all purchases for IES investment projects are made through the electronic trading site.   Holding’s procurement activity procedural framework is based on implementation of mandatory procedures when selecting contractors and suppliers providing transparency and equal competitive conditions for all participants.

Perm CHPP-9 reconstruction (“Amethyst” project of IES “Diadem” investment program) implies the transfer of one of the steam-power units of the power plant to combined-cycle plant involving the installation of 160MW gas turbine and heat recovery boiler. This will enable to increase the installed capacity of the power plant, improve its energy-efficiency and to withdraw the outdated equipment from service.  Besides, new capacities actuation at CHPP-9 will significantly reduce electric energy shortage in Perm-Zakamsk power node and improve the reliability of energy supply.

At the moment Perm CHPP-9 provides energy to Perm inhabitants and industrial facilities including one of the largest oil-refining companies of Russia “Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez”. The installed electrical capacity of CHPP-9 is 447MW.

Perm CHPP-9 reconstruction cost makes over 7 billion rubles. It is planned to complete the project in 2012.
