OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2010. In September CJSC Oskolcement, one of the largest operations in EUROCEMENT Group, was well on target for cement dispatches.

In the first month of autumn, a point where cement consumption tops out and starts to decline, the plant dispatched 340,157 tons of “bread of construction” to various regional destinations across the country, which 23.3 % up from the previous September’s level.

The nine month results show a superior performance than a year ago for burning and grinding of clinker, the semi-finished product for cement production. Cement dispatches grew by one third over a year ago with BIG-BAG cement representing a portion which is nearly twice the previous year.

There is some compelling reason that explains why CJSC Oskolcement cement enjoys such a high consumption level at a time when the Russian construction industry has yet to recover from the global crisis.

- The consumer is attracted to the high quality of the Oskol cement, - concludes CJSC Oskolcement’s Rail Transportation Department Head Vladimir Pritchin. – In the height of the construction season the plant operated at full capacity and its products were in hot demand in the market. The excellent production performance leveraged the joint contribution from the plant’s personnel, CJSC EUROCEMENT Trade, a trading subsidiary and the South-East railway. All the elements in that concerted effort clicked into operation like a perfect clockwork.

In early days of October, just ahead of routine maintenance activities CJSC Oskolcement continues to operate at a high utilization level. At present the plant turns out 5 cement grades, including the latest product, SSPTS-500D20V sulfate-resistant cement. From year to date the plant has dispatched 90 thousand tons of this product which is applied in complex concrete constructions with exposure to corrosive environments.
