OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2010. The only cement producer in the Samara Region, EUROCEMENT Group’s CJSC Zhigulevskie Building Materials, has posted its 9 months results in 2010.

In the reporting period the plant has produced 555.4 thousand tons of clinker, which is 419 thousand tons up from the last year. Cement production grew 35.9 % to 733 thousand tons.

Products are still dispatched to various destinations across Russia as well as to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.  To date the plant has dispatched more than 740 thousand tons, which is 33.5% up on the previous year. Higher product sales are attributable to market expansion and close cooperation with consumers in the Samara, Volga and Ural regions. Products are dispatched by ship, rail and truck with the company’s own centralized cement truck delivery service being the preferred mode of transportation. The demand for 1000 kg big bag cement has also gone up.

In addition to its staple product CJCS Zhigulevskie Building Materials also sells crushed stone, mineral powder and carbonate rocks used in asphalt concrete production

The major highlights in the previous period include a new Alstom Power Stavan electric precipitator coming into operation on rotating kiln No. 3, which is a serious step towards to a healthier environment, and also an improved pattern in cements dispatches to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. This year the plant has developed production of plugging Portland cement PTST I-50 suitable for normal and moderate temperatures and civil construction grade early-strength portland cement TSEM II/A-K (SH-P) 32.5 N.

It should be noted that in May 2010 TSEM II/A-K (SH-P) 32.5 N grade was recognized for its quality by the All-Russia Grade Golden Quality Award (Millennium-III)/21th   Century Quality Award. In addition to that CJCS Zhigulevskie Building Materials holds the Platinum Quality Award for TSEM 42.5 N and the high-quality plant certificate.

Plans are afoot to commission horizontal slurry storage tank No. 3 before the end of 2010, which will build up a stock of clay slurry to ensure the grinding department’s steady operation and also to conduct a major overhaul of clamshell crane No. 1 in the grinding department.
