December 02, 2010.  According to preliminary data, JSC Freight One’s volume of coal haulage volumes in Siberia for the first 11 months of 2010 amounted to 5.6 million tonnes −2.6-fold growth against the same period last year (2.16 million tonnes). Coal was carried from pits in the Kansk-Achinsk (Krasnoyarsk Territory) and Minusinsk coal basins (Republic of Khakassia).

In November JSC Freight One’s coal haulage volumes are expected to exceed last year’s indicator of 516,700 tonnes (November 2009), and amount to 760,000 tonnes. JSC Freight One has supplied extra railcars to deliver fuel for power stations and utilities across Russia around the clock. As such, in November a daily average of 365 coal-laden railcars were served along the Krasnoyarsk railway-42% higher than last November.

Overall, the regional power distribution companies have received the necessary fuel reserves. According to Yenisei TGK-13 generating company, fuel stocks at the company’s plants exceed the standards of the Ministry of Energy by 35% for coal and by 112% for fuel oil.

It should be noted that the JSC Freight One’s gondola cars, which number half that of third-party operators, convey a comparable amount of coal. From January to October 2010, JSC Freight One’s fleet-25% of the entire fleet of gondolas on the Russian Railways network-transported 31% (83 million tonnes) of coal deliveries by rail. At the same time, the combined fleet of gondolas of third-party operators-accounting for 52%-carried only 33% (90.3 million tonnes) of coal.
