OREANDA-NEWS. December 09, 2010. According to Sergey Kogogin, now KAMAZ is redirecting its exports to far-abroad countries. “The market doesn’t allow us to recover pre-crisis levels for the time being,” noted Director General. “But, on the whole, the market situation is nowadays favorable. Growth rates are very good, and we are trying to keep up with the times. KAMAZ is still the leader in the market. Our market share will be about 50% this year.”

Sergey Kogogin expressed his satisfaction with KAMAZ’s work in 2010 and expected results of its activity in the main areas. “I think we will produce and sell by 22-25% more marketable products than in 2009,” he said. “We have a great deal to do in December, but things are shaping up well. This year we plan to manufacture 32 thousand vehicles in all. 4 thousand units of them will be exported. In comparison with 13 thousand vehicles exported in 2007, the number of exported items has naturally decreased. But take into account that the crisis affected almost everything.”

Sergey Kogogin said that KAMAZ’s main export markets were Kazakhstan and Ukraine. The crisis tendencies began in Kazakhstan a year earlier than in Russia, and there was a serious decline in the market. The Kazakh market is recovering now. But the market of Ukraine is still developing unevenly – sharp pickups alternate with sudden downturns.

“We have started to reorient our export pattern,” emphasized Sergey Kogogin. “If you look at KAMAZ exports in the pre-crisis period, three quarters of our products were delivered to the CIS countries, and one fourth went to the far abroad. This year, we will export more than fifty percent of our products to far-abroad countries. The trend continues.”
