OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2010. Common Rail KAMAZ 740.63-400 Engine meeting Euro 3 ecostandards is a laureate of the contest “100 Best Goods of Russia” with the diploma “New Product of the Year”.

The KAMAZ 740.63-400 Engine (Euro 3) with the Common Rail injection system – a modern, low-consumption four-cycle electronic diesel engine – is a model transitional to Euro 4. Application of Common Rail enables to increase a power range, reduce specific fuel consumption. This system is used on single vehicles, trucks, buses, special-purpose vehicles produced for the Russian market and for export. The life of the engine till the first complete overhaul is 800,000 km traveled.

The Common Rail fuel injection system (CRS) by BOSCH, Germany, was adapted to KAMAZ engines to gain efficiency and decrease emissions with the purpose of meeting Euro 3, 4 and 5 ecostandards.

The CRS fuel injection system with control unit EDC7UC31 makes it possible to meet fuel injection requirements, namely:

- increased injection pressure (current systems – 1,600 bar, prospective systems – to 2,500 bar);
- variable law of fuel delivery (a moment of the beginning and the end of injection);
- guaranteed preliminary (even repeated) and subsequent (even very late) injection;
- injection pressure control (230-1,600 bar) depending on conditions of engine and vehicle operation;
- accurate dosing with an individual electronic control;
- abatement of engine noise.

As specialists of KAMAZ-Diesel Inc. producing such engines affirm, there are no alternative domestic suppliers of analogous prospective fuel injection systems to date.
