OREANDA-NEWS. January 05, 2011. Dynamic development of Black Sea Terminal has created favorable condition for implementation of its strategic goals including metrological provision of the terminal. Key components for this condition are unique metrological basis of the terminal, highly qualified personnel and applying innovations. The metrological service of Kulevi Terminal meets requirements of Georgian legal system as well as international standards ensuring the accuracy of measurements calibration.

At the same time, the terminal implements development programmes to extend the scope and improve the quality of metrological provision. Central Laboratory of Calibration has been established at the terminal to ensure uniformity of measurements and metrological support of gauges. Extension of the scope of Black Sea Terminal’s metrological provision is a very important and perspective project. BST management takes serious measures to reach this goal. For instance, the Central Laboratory of Calibrations is equipped with metrological tools such as RP-50 (Prufpumpe Prufgerate fur Wasserleitungen). In December 2010, BST purchased all required equipments for calibration of gas analyzers and the terminal’s personnel attended relevant trainings on improvement of professional skills. Besides calibration of the measurements, BST also performs analysis of oil products’ as well as ballast water samples for the ships entering the Port of Kulevi. Works on implementation of new methods in metrology and quality increase of metrological provision will be continued in 2011 to ensure and develop an accurate measurement in the terminal.
