OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2011. In response to growing demand for motor fuels, Crude Oil Refinery ORLEN Lietuva raised its arctic diesel fuel production by one third in December. Fuel producers observe the tendency by filling stations to stock up much higher volumes of motor fuels before excise tax increase taking effect.

“Press reports stating that ORLEN Lietuva is not able to fuel demands do not reflect the actual situation. We are ready to provide the required quantities of product to filling stations in the country, and a short delay in the middle of December occurred because our clients were purchasing volumes   larger than initially planned “, said Dovydas Zinkevicius, Director of Inland Wholesale of ORLEN Lietuva.

The quality of all fuels sold in Lithuania must comply with fuel requirements for summer, transition and winter seasons. During the winter time, the cold filter plugging point (CFPP) is required to be no less than 32 °C. Diesel fuel produced by ORLEN Lietuva exceeds the quality requirements set by the law. It does not freeze at temperature which is 2 or more degrees lower.

In November diesel fuel sales by ORLEN Lietuva grew up by 63 percent when compared to the same period last year. During this winter season the refinery is planning a total production of 470 thousand tons of arctic diesel fuel – by approx 15 percent higher compared with the last year's output.
