OREANDA-NEWS. January 17, 2011. The Casting and Rolling Complex (CRC, Vyksa District, Nizhny Novgorod Region), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK), produced the millionth tonne of melted steel from the beginning of 2010 and, therefore, increased its productivity by 30% as compared with 2009.

The Casting and Rolling Complex produces hot-rolled steel coils, plates, and strips from melted steel. Let us remind that in October 2010 CRC reached its designed capacity and manufactured more than 100 thousand tonnes of coils a month. At present, CRC produces carbon, low-alloyed, heavy-duty, and corrosion-resistant steels. At present, two years after its establishment, CRC applies steel melting and teeming technologies and produces rolled products using 21 steel grades. The facility started making section-shaped products of 2–12.7 mm in thickness and 1,000–1,760 mm in width. CRC continues with its efforts to manufacture rolled products having super-thin thicknesses.
