OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2011. Ingosstrakh OJSIC paid an insurance indemnity to one of the largest Russian banks in the amount of over 12.6 mln rubles in connection with an ATM break-in by criminals and theft of cash funds from it.  

The law enforcement agencies instituted criminal proceedings on the basis of Article 158 of The Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (large-scale theft). As follows from the documents provided by the insured, on September 29, 2010, some unidentified persons opened the door to the ATM service room, located in one of the shops of the town of Sergiev Posad in the Moscow region, by fitting keys, broke into the ATM and stole all the cash funds.

After receiving a package of necessary documents from the insured and establishment of all the circumstances of the event, Ingosstrakh OJSIC classified the event as the insurance case. The insurance indemnity under the policy conditions was paid both for the cash funds stolen and for the damaged ATM.

On the whole, in the period from January 1, 20102010 till December 30, 2010, Ingosstrakh OJSIC paid its customers over 107 mln rubles as insurance indemnity in connection with break-in of ATMs and theft of cash funds from them, and also damage of ATMs as a result of actions of the third persons (hooliganism, vandalism, etc.).
