OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2011. Ingosstrakh OJSIC receives requests from different state bodies and public associations related to adjustment of the insurance event, concerning the road accident occurred in Egypt on November 15, 2010. As such we inform, that Ingosstrakh OJSIC has fulfilled its obligations in full and on an operational basis, it had duly organized the first aid for all the injured, who had been insured with the company, providing also repatriation of a deceased body of the citizen of Russia E. Kozlova. The Company express their deepest condolences to family and relatives of the involved in that fatal crash.

As it was mentioned at the time, six tourists, who had appeared in the microbus, involved in the road traffic accident on November 15, 2010 in Egypt on the highway Hurgada-Safaga, had been insured with Ingosstrakh OJSIC under the insurance contracts covering the medical expenses outside the country. That road traffic accident killed one Russian woman and one Ukrainian. In the microbus, turned over because of the tire punctured, there appeared 16 tourists, among which there were seven Russian citizens, and some citizens of Ukraine. All the injured were taken to the state hospital in Safaga, having the severity of different traumas, hurts, cuts. They were given first aid in the state hospital in Safaga. Two tourists were forwarded for the following physical examination to the clinic of Hurgada. The representatives of the insurance company kept on contacting with the medicals of hospitals, the consular services personnel of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to Egypt.

Ingosstrakh OJSIC takes note to the fact, that many Russians, while planning the voyage, don’t give duly attention to the insurance protection of their life and health. The insurance of those who go abroad is a complex product, comprising the different insurance programs, such as accident insurance, failure to travel insurance, luggage insurance, public indemnity insurance. As concerns the mentioned crash, only the medical expenses were covered by the policy. They had not bought the policy, provided the death benefit.

Usually the clients themselves decide the scope of insurance coverage. When travelling the tourists set aside the complex insurance product, including the accident insurance, because of its price. This fact shall be in mind of different organizations, relatives and interested parties, when claiming the insurance indemnity for accidents.

Ingosstrakh OJSIC considers it necessary to accent the importance of introduction at the national level of the stringent tourist insurance rules, as well as of the organization of serious informational work explaining the necessity of complex insurance protection of Russian citizens when going abroad. As is known, actually the tourists, going abroad, buy the policy of insurance mostly with the travel packages. Visiting the most of visa-free countries in which, as a rule, the insurance is not necessary, the tourists usually buy policies covering less than USD 15,000. However, with the medical services and air travels raised in price, this limit is evidently insufficient.

Ingosstrakh OJSIC recommends strongly all the tourists that they, when concluding the contract with the insurance company or buying the policy with the tour operator, should look more closely at the service list included. Also we recommend to our clients to buy the complex insurance product of the leading insurance companies, when going abroad.
