OREANDA-NEWS. January 31, 2011. OJSC Polyus Gold (RTS, MICEX and LSE - PLZL), Russia's largest gold producer, releases its preliminary operating results for the year 2010. In the period under review the Group produced 1,386 thousand ounces of refined gold, compared to 1,261 thousand ounces in the year 2009, showing a 10% year-on-year growth, reported the press-centre of Polyus Gold.

The increase in production is primarily a result of the launch in July of 2010 of the Blagodatnoe project in Krasnoyarsk region. A considerable contribution to the production was made by KazakhGold Group' subsidiaries, where the modernization of mining and processing facilities continued, as well as by Titimukhta project, which was launched in 2009 and where gradual increase of production facilities continued.
