OREANDA-NEWS. January 31, 2011. JSC ‘Aeroflot’ lodged claims against Germany-based ‘Clariant’ totaling 2,904,000 Euros for the company's failure to supply anti-icing liquid in late 2010, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

The supplier of anti-icing liquid, the Germany-based ‘Clariant’ company, failed to observe the schedule of supplies to Aeroflot of the chemicals reagents required for pre-flight handling of aircraft. As a result, Aeroflot’s operations were interrupted at the end of 2010 under freezing rain condition.

This season, Aeroflot has increased the total amount of anti-icing agents by 10% as compared to the previous season. However, to ensure high safety of flights under freezing rain conditions, the company had to use the stock of agents intended for a month.

Currently, Aeroflot’s stock of anti-icing agents is sufficient for the company’s operations till the end of the season.
