OREANDA-NEWS. January 31, 2011. Baltic International Bank participated in the Latvian-Azerbaijani business forum. Held last week, the forum was organised as a part of official visit of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to Latvia. The Bank was represented at the event by Evgenia Litovchenko (Director for Eastern European Markets) and private bankers Natalya Yurchenko and Dmitri Skibo, reported the press-centre of BIB.

The primary objective of the forum was to facilitate effective partnership between business communities in both countries. The forum provided attendees with detailed information regarding economic development, investment opportunities and the potential for Latvia-Azerbaijan co-operation. Also, various projects were presented at the forum. The event brought together more than 200 participants from both countries.

Latvia’s President Valdis Zatlers and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev were the closing keynote speakers. The presidents signed a series of important documents on business and investment co-operation between the two countries.

According to the country-level officials, Latvian-Azerbaijani forums have already become a good tradition and are indeed indicative of a keen interest in strengthening international ties. However, the bilateral economic co-operation has not yet reached its full potential.
