Annual production of 303 kt copper cathode from own material

In line with target set at the start of 2010

Increase of work in progress at the smelters, equivalent to around 9 kt of cathode

Strong by-product output over the year

Zinc in concentrate production of 167 kt, ahead of previous guidance due to an increase in grade and recovery rates

Gold in ore mined up 24% on 2009, with renewed output from Abyz mine

Production of 127 koz, in line with annual target

Silver production of 14,093 koz ahead of previous guidance

Anticipated reduction of grade at Zhezkazgan Complex was offset by an increase in grade and ore output at East Region

Kazakhmys Power output ahead of target

Net power generated in 2010 of 11,065 GWh, a 14% increase compared to 2009

Realised tariff achieved of 4.49 KZT/kWh in 2010 compared to 3.19 KZT/kWh in 2009

Oleg Novachuk, Chief Executive Officer, said: "This was another solid year for Kazakhmys, with our full year production meeting or exceeding targets in all areas. We anticipate maintaining copper output at a similar level in 2011 and with strong demand from customers, all contracts for the current year have been agreed. The power business is continuing to perform strongly, allowing us to deliver the reinvestment and development programme."
