OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2011. Russian students studying in Cairo universities have been flown back to Ufa aboard a specially chartered UTair flight. The decision to evacuate the students was made as a result of the mass disturbances in the Egyptian capital, where the political situation has moved beyond state control.

The charter flight was made by UTair Aviation in cooperation with the government of the Bashkortostan Republic. The UTair Aviation Tupolev-154M aircraft landed in Ufa at 05.08 am (MSK) bringing home 152 Russian students and their family members. The flight was operated by crew and flight attendants of the Ufa Flight Group headed by the Squadron-leader Sergey Bozhnev and Commanding Officer of the Group Rashid Abbasov.

UTair Aviation has a vast experience in humanitarian missions in different regions of the world.
