OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2011. Freight traffic at the port of Temryuk in January 2011 rose by 25% compared to the same period in 2010, to 207,930 tons, the Port Authority press service said.

In the reporting period, exports grew by 20.4% to 198,930 tons. The volume of imported cargoes soared as much as 7.8 times from a year earlier, to 9,000 tons. In January the number of calls slumped dramatically, to 84 vessels, a 68-percent decline from Jan, 2010.

Port Temryuk is located on the Taman shore of the Azov Sea. The port maintains and operates its 1200-m-length berths with loading facilities. The port handles primarily general cargoes, round timber, lumber, metal, as well as bulky goods and food.  In 2010, Port Temryuk’s cargo volume was down 7.4% y-o-y to 2,11 million tons.
