OREANDA-NEWS. February 10, 2011. Izhorskiye Zavody was visited by the government delegation and business leaders of the Tatarstan Republic, led by the minister of industry and trade R. Kh. Zaripov.

The delegation comprised I.R. Mingaleev, first deputy minister of industry and trade, and executives and technical specialists of JSC  TAIF, JSC  TAIF-NK, JSC  TATNEFT, JSC  PO ElAZ, JSC  Bugulminsky Mechanical Plant, JSC  Kazankompressormash.

The guests visited metallurgical facilities and machine shops of the Izhorskiy manufacturing plant. Almost all technological stages of equipment manufacturing were showcased, including steel smelting using the new DSP-120 steelmaking unit; billet forging on one of the largest Russian automated forging unit AKK-1200; mechanical treatment and welding using modern effective equipment; thermal treatment and quality control of the metal parts and welding seams of complete units.

During the visit the parties have held negotiations on further cooperation in the production of deep oil refining equipment for the republic’s petrochemical companies.

Izhorskiy manufacturing plant is one of the recognized leaders in the production of extra-large high-tech equipment for deep oil refining. Among Izhorskiye Zavody customers are the largest petrochemical companies, including JSC  NK Rosneft, JSC  NK Lukoil, JSC  Surgutneftegaz, JSC  NAFTAN, JSC  TANEKO and JSC  TAIF-NK (Tatarstan Republic). In 2010 Izhorskiye Zavody has manufactured two unique high-tech hydrotreater units weighing over 1200 tons each for JSC  TANEKO.

Currently the Izhorskiy manufacturing facility undergoes a large-scale modernization program, funded by Gazprombank. The company has commissioned a modern ultra-powerful steelmaking unit DSP-120, initiated construction of LF VD/VOD integrated liquid steel processing system and upgrade of the forging and press units, including thermal equipment. Rearmament of the machine shops includes modernization of the SCHIESS processing center and the purchase of ARIES-4 multifunctional high-speed processing center, as well as the upgrade of the forge for ultra-large unit thermal treatment, replacement of welding equipment, etc.

Petrochemical sector is one of the leading industries in the Tatarstan Republic; the development of oil and gas production is one of the key factors behind the republic’s economic stability. Tatarstan Republic’s petrochemical industry comprises over 20 companies specializing in production and refining of oil, gas and light hydrocarbons.
