OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2011. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that Ukraine has the capacity to be among the world's leading IT industry.

"Today we discussed what should be done for development of modern IT technologies in Ukraine. It is understood that it is necessary to regulate a number of issues on legislation level. The incentives are also required to make these companies be competitive and, of course, program of state support is required for the development of this industry. And, of course, training system is in need", Mykola Azarov emphasized.

In addition, the PM informed that the State Agency for Science, Innovation and Information, headed by Volodymyr Semynozhenko, will develop the law on IT technologies market.

"Volodymyr Semynozhenko is tasked to draft the bill, which would preview the characteristics of this market, the possibility of creating an expert body to define the IT market participants, as the industry is developing very actively", the Prime Minister said. He added that the Government would consider establishing a special regime of contributions to social funds for companies operating in IT technologies.

Tax norms, as the Association of IT business executives mentioned, suit the industry, but the contributions to social funds do not allow to raise wages and pay them in Ukraine, so they asked the Government to consider special mode of contributions to social funds for IT Industry.
