OREANDA-NEWS. February 25, 2011. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID), the country’s Central Transmission Utility and a Navratna PSU, has declared an interim dividend of 5% of share capital for the Financial Year 2010-11.

Shri S. K. Chaturvedi, CMD, POWERGRID handed over electronic payment remittance advice of Rs.155.64 Crore to Hon’ble Union Minister of Power Shri Sushilkumar Shinde on February 24, 2011 towards share of Ministry of Power in the interim dividend. Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Power Shri K. C. Venugopal, Secretary (Power), GoI and other senior officials of Ministry of Power and POWERGRID were also present on the occasion. The total interim dividend being disbursed is to the tune of Rs.231.51 Crore to about 12.02 lakh shareholders.

At present POWERGRID is operating about 81,500 ckt. kms. of transmission lines along with 133 Sub-stations with transformation capacity of more than 91,600 MVA. POWERGRID continues to wheel about 50% of total power generated in the country through its transmission network.
